*Teams participating in KC Premiere Basketball Leagues are egible to request practice
   time in the Shawnee Mission School District.

*November 1 through end of February is subject to the protocol oft he Shawnee Basketball Council
   which requires that teams have 75% Shawnee residents to qualify for gym time.

PROCEDURE FOR REQUESTING PRACTICE TIME IN SHAWNEE MISSION (March 1 - October 31)

*You must be a KC Premiere League team to qualify for practice time.

STEP 1: Go to www.smsd.org

STEP 2: Click on “District Departments” under PUBLIC INFO Dropdown.

STEP 3: Click on “Facility Rental” on the left side of page.

STEP 4: Under “Facility Rental”, click on AD ASTRA ROOM RESERVATIONS.

STEP 5: Using the pull down methods, you can look up available gym time by entering school, room (gym, gym aux, gym stage) and date. You may also use a range of dates.

STEP 6: If nothing comes up, then the gym time is available.

*After checking the “GYM”, you MUST ALSO check the “BUILDING” to make sure
  the entire building is not reserved for a school function.

STEP 7: You MUST check for gym time availability BEFORE submitting a request. ALL requested gym time MUST be submitted at one time. If you only have one date, that is fine, otherwise you MUST submit for the entire season at once. All requests must include school(s), date(s), and time (i.e. 6pm -7:30pm). Email your completed request to coachdavis@earthlink.net.
 

It may take up to 72 hours to process the request through SMSD.
Once requested, it is YOURS (i.e. you are responsible for paying for it.).

STEP 8: Once requests are processed and approved, a copy of your permit will be emailed to you.

*If a requested date is listed on the permit as “tentative” or “declined”, it is your responsibility
  to re-submit a request for those dates. You will not have access to the gym unless your permit
   states it has been “scheduled”.

STEP 9: Once you receive your permits, please remit payment to:

*ALL practice time is $16/hour and MUST be paid for prior to first practice.
